Apoorva U Kumar
Research Associate, Energy Transitions
Apoorva is a Research Associate in the Energy Transitions Team, at the Sustainable Futures Collaborative. She works on aspects of just energy transitions, energy regulation and energy governance. Her other research interests include public participation within energy and environmental policy, natural resource governance and TWAIL.
She has previously worked with the legal team of Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd., advising stakeholders on energy law and facilitating renewable energy procurement. She has also interned at the Indian Institute for Human Settlements, where she worked on a project mapping judicial trends in renewable energy disputes.
Apoorva holds a Masters Degree (LLM) in Environment, Sustainability and Business Law from the University of Bristol, UK and a Bachelors degree in law (B.A., LL.B.) from School of Law, Christ University, Bangalore.
